Black Rock Falls

I'd never been to Uvas County Park, even though it's a mere 15 miles from my parent's house. Just off of McKean Road past Calero.

You have to pass through the tiny Swedish village of Sveadal to enter the park. Who knew there was a Swedish community resting there?!

Wood ear? mushrooms (lower left corner)

Both kids in carriers. Upper Falls.

Me: "Look, a ladybug. No wait, 2. No, 3! 4! Aack! "
It must have been ladybug hatching day.
They were like this all over this railing that went over the creek.
I found them in big clumps and clusters for the next quarter mile.

Big Basin Falls.

Halloween

Adele had her first ever sleepover at my parent's last week. Just her and the grandparents. Samuel stayed with us. She had a great time with them at their ward trunk or treat. I couldn't get her back and they took her to church the next day. I still couldn't get her back, and they finally brought her to me Sunday evening.

The kids were pretty sick on Halloween. Adele even crashed on the couch in the living room, and this is the girl who never naps. We still had fun carving pumpkins. Adele wanted to carve Prince Phillip (from Sleeping Beauty), while her cousin Dawna wanted Cinderella. I was surprised Adele didn't pick a princess.

Samuel the lion from the Wizard of Oz is examining Dorothy's ruby red slippers.

Samuel has a double theme going with the lion-tiger thing going on with cousin Lawrence.
This lion costume was the one I bought for Adele when she was one. I think they are about the same size in it, even though he is almost 8 months, and she was 1 at the time.

Adele is not so puny anymore. She is in the 50th percentile for weight and height. Samuel's dropped alot, now in the 25th (He used to be in the 75th).
